I am a 25-year old woman in Chicago. I live on the north side, nestled in between the bourgeois sensibilities of Lakeview and the charming-yet-frightening seediness of Uptown. I think this provides a decent metaphor for my life.
I was unpopular in high school. I’d like to say it was because I was some sort of misunderstood genius, but really it was just due to my crippling social awkwardness. I’m working on that.
I’m currently in the middle of a career change. I was once a materials engineer, and I want to get into the field of Epidemiology and Biostatistics. I am quickly realizing that a career change is a very difficult thing to do.
Other than that, I enjoy singing (choral music and karaoke), running (finished my first marathon in October and am currently training for the next), bowling, traveling, having quasi-intellectual drunken discussions, learning useless geography and climatology trivia, exploring my beautiful city, and wasting time writing this blog.
The photo in the header of this blog is one I took at the Indiana Dunes in September of 2007.
